Elizabeth never married, She lived with her sister Ida.When she had a srtroke in
her 30s she returned from teaching in Fife and Lanarkshire to Aberdeenshire,
with the money she received as superannuation she built the bungalow "
Hamewith" in Kncardine O'Neil and was able to provide a home for her mother
and her sister Ida who looked after her till she died. "Ida and Elizabeth looked
after the four BUCHANAN children when they were home from INDIA, when thay
were at Kincardine O'Neil their parents paid for the childrens room and board and
expanses, etc and this must have been a great financial help to the two maiden
